In 2015/16, a new national access and waiting time standard for Early Intervention in Psychosis is being introduced, for achievement from 1 April 2016.
This is the first of its kind for mental health services and is critical to the effort to achieve parity of esteem for mental health.
From 1 April 2016, more than 50% of people experiencing a first episode psychosis will commence a NICE concordant package of care within two weeks of referral
What does the new standard mean for you?
The new standard will require close collaboration between commissioners, mental health trusts, local authorities and many other key players within the health and social care sector to ensure London is ready to meet this new target.
We’re here to help
London CCGs have provided funding for an Early Intervention in Psychosis (EIP) London programme to coordinate the pan-London readiness work. This programme is overseen by the Office of London CCGs and the London Mental Health Strategic Clinical Network.
